Uvalde boys claim third place in Eagle Pass track meet

The Uvalde Coyotes totaled 74 points and finished third in the boys’ varsity team standings of the Eagle Pass Winn Relays Thursday.

D’Andre Carroll and Orlando Castañeda each won a first-place medal.

Carroll cleared 6 feet in the high jump and Castañeda jumped 40 feet and 11 inches in the triple jump.

Eric De La Rosa finished second in the shot put and third in the discus. He put the shot 45 feet and 8 inches, while he threw the discus 139 feet and 9 inches.

Isidro Escamilla, D’Andre Carroll, and Chris Embers placed second, third, and fifth, respectively, in the 100-meter dash with times of 10.94 seconds, 11.10 seconds, and 11.35 seconds.

Uvalde’s 4-by-100-meter relay team claimed second place.

Isidro Escamilla, Noah Smith, Chris Embers and D’Andre Carroll combined for a time of 44.61 seconds.
