The Uvalde Lobos lost four basketball games in Harlandale tournament action last weekend.
Last Thursday, the San Antonio Providence Pro-Vets topped the Lobos, 34-27, in the tourney opener.
Up 12-11 at the end of the first half, the Providence girls outscored the Lobos, 10-3, in the third period and held off a comeback bid by the Uvaldeans in the fourth period to win the ball game.
Violet Gomez led the individual scoring for the Lobos with nine points.
A’Taisha Carroll totaled six points, Gabriela Victorino posted five points, Nataly Sanchez put in four points, Lenisa Tomasini made two points, and Desirae Garcia contributed one point.
In their second game Thursday, the Lobos suffered a 76-44 loss at the hands of the McCollum Cowgirls.
McCollum outscored the Lobos, 45-22, in the first half and outpointed the Uvalde girls, 31-22, in the second half to wind up with their 32-point win.
Cecilia Cantu and Violet Gomez scored in double figures for the Lobos with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
Gabriela Victorino posted nine points.
Others scoring for Uvalde High School were A’Taisha Carroll with five points, Rayleigh Watson with four points, Desirae Garcia with two points, and Bethany Gonzalez and Nataly Santos each with one point.
In tourney action last Friday, the Southwest Lady Dragons beat the Lobos, 35-30, while the Burbank Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lobos, 52-27.
Four players topped the scoring for the Lobos against Southwest with six points each, including Rayleigh Watson, Lenisa Tomasini, A’Taisha Carroll, and Cecilia Cantu.
Nataly Santos made three points, while Violet Gomez totaled two points.
Rayleigh Watson led Uvalde’s scoring against Burbank. She netted 11 points.
Nataly Santos recorded six points, A’Taisha Carroll put in five points, Violet Gomez had three points, and Desirae Garcia made two points.
