Tomorrow at Jourdanton, the Uvalde Coyotes and the Jourdanton Indians will do battle in basketball.
The varsity game is set to start at 12:45 p.m.
Preceding the varsity game will be an 11:15 a.m. junior varsity contest.
Coach Billy Ramey’s Coyotes will head into play tomorrow following Friday night road action against the Medina Valley Panthers.
Results from the Uvalde-MV game will be reported in Thursday’s edition of the Uvalde Leader-News.
Last Tuesday night in Harvey Kinchlow Gym, the Coyotes got their basketball season underway with a 57-27 home loss to the state-ranked Boerne Greyhounds.
Boerne got off to a 15-5 lead in the first period.
The Hounds extended their scoring lead to 34-13 by halftime.
The Greyhounds outscored the Coyotes, 23-10, in the second half to wind up with their 30-point victory.
Jose Ruiz topped the individual scoring for the Coyotes with eight points.
Joshua De La Garza netted seven points, Diego Rodriguez tallied four points, and Cristian Trevino totaled three points.
Estevan Ortiz, Angel Flores, Jonathan Ruiz, and Omar Pintor-Herrera saw action for the Coyotes, but they did not get into the scoring column.
Doak Stangle racked up 20 points to lead Boerne’s individual scoring in the contest.
On Tuesday, the Coyotes will host the Eagle Pass Eagles in afternoon action in Kinchlow Gym.
Following the Thanksgiving Day holiday break, the Uvaldeans will face the Fredericksburg Billies at Fredericksburg High School on Nov. 28.
The varsity Coyotes will participate in the Hondo Tournament scheduled to be held Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.
On Dec. 5, the Uvaldeans go up against the Devine Warhorses in Harvey Kinchlow Gym.
