Two teams seek first district victory

Coyotes host Harlandale Indians tomorrow in the Honey Bowl

Tomorrow night in the Honey Bowl, the Uvalde Coyotes and the San Antonio Harlandale Indians both will be seeking their first district football victory of the season.

Kick-off time for the District 29-5A contest between the Coyotes and the Indians is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Albert Torres is the new football coach at Harlandale High School. He replaces long-time head coach Isaac Martinez, who retired as head coach to accept the position of Harlandale ISD athletic director last spring.

Torres came to Harlandale from San Antonio Edison High School, where he served as head football coach for several seasons.

Coach Torres’ Indians, 0-1 in district play and 0-6 for the season, played a tough pre-season schedule that featured 5-1 San Antonio Jay, 5-2 Central Catholic, and 4-2 Somerset.
