Tuesday at the Uvalde County Fairplex, the 2017 Uvalde High School Sports Banquet will be held.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served starting at 6:30 p.m., while the program will get underway at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Uvalde Athletic Booster Club, the event will honor UHS athletes for their efforts throughout the 2016-17 school year.
Tickets cost $15 per person and they are available at the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District central office at 1000 N. Getty or at the UHS athletic office.
Former UHS standout athlete Roland Ramirez will be the featured speaker for the sports banquet.
Ramirez, a 1997 graduate of UHS, is head athletic trainer and director of rehabilitation for the Houston Texans of the National Football League.
He lettered in four high school sports, including football, baseball, basketball and track.
Besides Ramirez’s speech, the UHS sports banquet will be highlighted by the introduction of UHS athletes and coaches, and by the special awards presentation.
