Softball camp to wind up 2017 summer season

The final youth sports camp offered by the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District for the 2017 summer season will be a girls’ softball camp set for next week.

Action in the three-day camp is set for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the Uvalde High School softball field.

The softball camp is for incoming fourth-graders up to ninth-graders.

Cost for the three-day camp will be $45 per camper.

On-site registration will be conducted prior to the start of the first day of camp Monday morning.

The focus of the camp will be on the fundaments of softball, including hitting, bunting, throwing, and fielding.

Campers are asked to wear a T-shirt, shorts, and shoes for the camp.

New Uvalde High School head softball coach James Fly will be the chief instructor for the youth softball camp.
