Spreading school spirit and supporting members of the team before the big game, pep rallies are an ingrained part of school culture. At Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, 10 pep rallies are slated for the 2019 football season, all with varying themes, intended to get the students excited.
Across the district, schools will be celebrating with a Hawaiian-themed rally “Lei out the Eagles on Aug. 29, followed by a western-themed “Rope the Mavs” rally on Sept. 6.
The following week, on Sept. 13, students will assemble in support of the Coyotes by wearing space-themed items for “Abduct the Dragons,” followed by a fiesta-themed “Taco ‘bout the Coyotes,” rally on Sept. 20.
