The Uvalde High School Seniors combined a solid running attack on offense with a stingy defense to notch a 6-0 girls’ flag football victory over the UHS Juniors in Powder Puff MMXVII last Friday night.
Playing before a spirited crowd of fans in the Honey Bowl, the Senior girls dominated play throughout most of the ball game, but they struggled to put points on the scoreboard.
On their opening possession of the contest, the Seniors drove the ball from their 20-yard line to the Juniors 13.
After a one-yard gain on first down, the Seniors lost yardage on the following two plays.
Facing a fourth-down-and-15 situation from the 18-yard line, the Seniors were forced to attempt their first pass of the game.
Katelin Sena intercepted the pass for the Juniors at the 10-yard line and returned it to the Juniors 19.
Later in the first half, Sara Ramos covered a Juniors fumble for the Seniors at the Juniors 12-yard line.
