The Uvalde Lobos completed their 2017-18 basketball season last Tuesday at Floresville.
They lost a 53-44 decision against the Floresville Jaguars.
The Lobos got off to a 13-11 lead in the first period.
Outscoring the Jaguars, 17-10, in the second period, the Lobos built up a 30-21 half-time advantage.
But the Jaguars outpointed the Lobos, 15-8, in the third period and went on to outscore the Uvalde girls, 17-6, in the fourth period to win the ball game.
“We played a really good game. Unfortunately the outcome is not what we wanted,” said Uvalde High School head basketball coach Gisel Mireles. “We executed well in the first half. We had only eight turnovers.
“Up by seven points at the end of the first half, we struggled in the second half to find the rhythm we had in the first half,” said Mireles. “Foul trouble started to play a factor down the line.”
