The Uvalde Lobos lost a close one Tuesday night as they lost to the Medina Valley Lady Panthers in a 43-42 basketball thriller played in Harvey Kinchlow Gym.
Down 37-32 early in the final period, the Lobos battled back to knot the score at 39-39.
Deandra Vera converted on a three-point play and Alyssa Rodriguez downed a free throw to cut the deficit to 37-36.
Paityn Kinnett scored off of an offensive rebound for MV, before Alyssa Rodriguez drained a three-point field goal to tie the score at 39-39 with 3:09 left in the fourth period.
The Lobos had the chance to take the scoring lead, but they missed on a couple of three-point shots.
Paityn Kinnett scored on a short-range field goal and Jolly Seagrest scored on a fast-break layup to give the Panthers a 43-39 lead.
Up by four points with less than a minute left in the game, the Panthers tried to go into a slow down mode in an effort to get the Lobos to foul them to gain possession of the ball.
