Lobos begin 2019 volleyball season with two home matches

The Uvalde Lobos will begin their 2019 volleyball season with a pair of home matches in Uvalde High School’s Harvey Kinchlow Gym.

Coach Russell McElroy’s Lobos will host the San Antonio Kennedy Lady Rockets on Aug. 6 and will then host the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles on Aug. 7.

The Uvalde-Kennedy varsity match is set to begin at noon. That match will be preceded by a freshman match at 10 a.m. and a junior varsity match at 11 a.m.

Pre-season volleyball practice for the Uvalde Lobos will get underway on Aug. 1 at UHS.

The Lobos will host a three-team scrimmage on Aug. 3 that will feature Hondo and Eagle Pass.

All eight of Uvalde’s District 28-5A volleyball home matches are scheduled to be played on a Tuesday night this season..

The Lobos will begin district action on the road when they face the Medina Valley Panthers on Friday, Aug. 30, at Castroville.
