Howard and Tucker, Ponish and Villarreal win bass tourney

The draw teams of Colton Howard and Vick Tucker, and Howard Ponish and Ricky Villarreal were the first-place winners in the Uvalde Bass Club’s May fishing tournament at Amistad Lake.

Howard and Tucker placed first on May 19 with their total catch of 15.15 pounds.

Tucker brought in the big bass of the day, a 4.11-pounder.

Laura Langner and Matt Meyers finished second with a catch of 12.57 pounds total, while Brian Langner and Terry Tilley placed third with their total catch of 10.17 pounds.

Ponish and Villarreal took top honors on May 20. They totaled 10.72 pounds, including the big bass of the day, a 3.51-pounder, caught by Ponish.

Robert Spence and Matt Meyers finished a close second in the competition. They netted a total catch of 10.64 pounds.
