High School sports to begin, athletes need physical exam

With the start of pre-season practice for high school football, volleyball, cross-country and team tennis early next month, young Uvalde athletes are urged to have a physical exam and to complete their pre-season paper work as soon as possible.

The exam and paperwork are required by the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District for all Uvalde High School and Morales Junior High School athletes.

Athletes must have a physical exam before they are eligible to participate in pre-season practices.

The University Interscholastic League paperwork includes emergency information, acknowledgement of rules, concussion acknowledgement, parent-student steroid agreement form, sudden cardiac arrest form and athletic training room policy form.

Paperwork and physical exam forms are available at the Uvalde High School athletic office.
