Harlan and Southwest boys play for top spot in standings

Going into play Friday and yesterday, two District 28-5A boys’ basketball teams remained undefeated in district play.

Those two teams, the San Antonio Harlan Hawks and the Southwest Dragons were scheduled to play each other Friday night at Harlan.

The 6-0 Hawks, 11-8 for the season, were to host the 5-0 Dragons, 10-10 for the season, in a game to determine sole possession of first place.

Harlan crushed the Southwest Legacy Titans, 75-31, in district action last Wednesday, while Southwest topped the Central Catholic Buttons in a 54-51 non-district thriller.

Four district teams entered play yesterday locked in a battle for third-place and fourth-place in team standings.
