Eight members of the Uvalde Lobos softball team have been selected to the District 29-5A All-District team.
Uvaldeans named to the elite team were seniors Ale Garza, Amanda Sandoval, and Sara Ramos, junior Denise Longoria, and sophomores Kyle Sendejo, Kamryn Arredondo, Faith Mata, and Deandra Vera.
Longoria, a pitcher and third baseman, shared the district’s most valuable player honors with Eagle Pass Winn’s Cassandra Flores.
Sendejo, a shortstop, was named as the district’s outstanding defensive player of the year.
Garza, Sandoval, and Arredondo also made the All-District first team. Garza played at first base, while Sandoval and Arredondo both played in the outfield for the Lobos.
Mata, a second baseman, and Vera, a catcher, were All-District second team selection, while Ramos, a designated hitter, made the All-District honorable mention list.
Uvaldeans Ale Garza, Anahi Ramirez, Denise Longoria, and Katelin Sena each made the District 29-5A All-Academic softball team.
