District 28-5A won three of its four softball bi-district playoff matchups against District 27-5A last weekend.
The top three finishing teams in 28-5A swept their respective series.
Medina Valley’s Lady Panthers crushed the San Antonio Burbank Bulldogs, 11-0 and 14-0, Southwest’s Dragons rolled over the Alamo Heights Mules, 11-0 and 17-0, while the Uvalde Lobos defeated the San Antonio Highlands Owls, 10-9 and 17-2.
District 27-5A’s champion San Antonio Edison Bears swept the Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks, 10-8 and 10-8.
Second-round matchups include Medina Valley vs. Lockhart, Southwest vs. Dripping Springs, and Uvalde vs. Kerrville Tivy.
Last night, the MV girls were to face the Lockhart Lions in game one of their series at Converse Judson.
Game two is set for 7 p.m. tonight, while game three, if needed, is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow night.
At San Marcos’ Texas State University, the Southwest girls will take on the Dripping Springs Tigers in a single-game playoff at 7 p.m. tonight.
Game two of Uvalde’s series against the Tivy is set for tonight at Kerrville.
If needed, game three will be played at 5 p.m. Saturday at Devine.
District 28-5A and District 27-5A teams are matched up this week for bi-district baseball.
In a playoff for 28-5A’s top seed, the Southwest Dragons edged the Medina Valley Panthers, 5-4, Monday at Southwest.
The Dragons will face the fourth-seeded team from 27-5A, the San Antonio Jefferson Mustangs in series action beginning today at 7 p.m. at the SAISD Sports Complex, while game two is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow at Southwest.
If needed, game three will be played Saturday.
Monday at San Antonio, Jefferson topped the San Antonio Burbank Bulldogs, 6-2, in a playoff game for fourth place.
Medina Valley will take on the third-place team from 27-5A, the San Antonio Highlands Owls in a series, beginning at 7 p.m. tonight at Castroville.
Tomorrow at 7:30 p.m., game two will be played at the SAISD Sports Complex, while if needed, game three will be play at noon Saturday at Castroville.
Eagle Pass Winn’s Mavericks will begin at series against the San Antonio Brackenridge Eagles at 7 p.m. tonight at Eagle Pass.
Game two is set for 5 p.m. tomorrow at SAISD, while game three, if needed, will be play at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jourdanton.
The Uvalde Coyotes will face the District 27-5A champion Alamo Heights Mules in a series starting tonight at Marvin Kolinek Field.
