The Uvalde Coyotes recorded their first football victory of the season Friday night as they downed the San Antonio Kennedy Rockets, 36-14, in the Honey Bowl.
“It was a big win for us tonight. I am happy for our kids and for our coaching staff. They worked hard in preparation for the game,” said Uvalde High School head football coach R.T. Gonzales.
“The big thing tonight was few turnovers. We had no interceptions and lost one fumble,” said Gonzales. “We moved the ball on offense, played good defense, and had good special-teams play.”
Ahead 15-14, the Coyotes scored twice in the third period and once more in the fourth period on the way to their lopsided win.
