It was a cold day outside and inside of Uvalde High School’s Harvey Kinchlow Gym Tuesday, but Uvalde fans left with a heart-warming feeling as their Coyotes rallied to defeat the Blanco Panthers in a 60-55 basketball thriller.
Down by eight points, 30-22, at the end of the first half, the Coyotes rallied to take a 39-38 lead by the end of the third period.
And the Coyotes never relinquished their lead as they outscored the Panthers, 21-17, the rest of the way to win the ball game.
With the win, Coach Billy Ramey’s Coyotes improved their season record to 8-14.
The Coyotes now have won four of their last six ball games.
“It was another great team win for us today. Everyone contributed in their own way,” said Ramey. “It was our second time to beat a good Blanco basketball team. We are continuing to improve with each game. We have two games left before we hit the district schedule. Hopefully, we play well in those two games.”
