Coyotes prepare for Boerne game

Following weekend action in the Devine Shoot Out basketball tournament, the Uvalde Coyotes will have an open date in their schedule Tuesday.

Coach Billy Ramey’s Coyotes will resume hoops competition Friday night when they travel to Boerne to play the Champion Chargers.

Tip-off time for the varsity game Friday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., while both the junior varsity game and the freshman game will begin at 5 p.m.

In Boerne, the Coyotes will be facing a height challenge as they will vie against forwards Tristan Green a 6-foot-9 senior, and Nick Baum, a 6-foot-4 senior.

Green has scored an average of 9.8 points per game this year.

Shooting guard Nathan Ghavidel, a 5-foot-10 junior, is the leading individual scorer for the Chargers this season. He has scored an average of 19.5 points per game.
