Coyotes go on the road for baseball tourney

The Uvalde Coyotes will travel to Corpus Christi next weekend for play in the Mira’s Bayfront Bash tournament.

As of presstime, the tourney pool schedule for the Coyotes was not available.

Coach Ricky Salazar’s Coyotes will enter play at Corpus coming off weekend action in the Border Olympics tournament at Laredo this weekend.

The Coyotes lost their first two games of the tournament.

They lost a 5-2 decision to Laredo Cigarroa and a 4-3 verdict to La Joya.

The Coyotes were set to play New Braunfels in their third pool matchup.

Complete results from the Border Olympics tournament will be reported in Thursday’s edition of the Uvalde Leader-News.

Uvalde’s seeding for tournament competition yesterday was be determined by their placement in pool standings.
