Coyotes face Medina Valley in district baseball rematch

Tomorrow at Castroville, the Uvalde Coyotes will go up against the Medina Valley Panthers in a District 28-5A baseball rematch.

The varsity game at 7 p.m. will follow the junior varsity game set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Last month, the Coyotes lost a 25-14 loss to Medina Valley in the season and district home opener.

Coach Bob Herb’s Panthers, 6-2 in district and 13-3 for the season overall, will enter action Friday coming off a 10-8 loss to the Southside Cardinals Tuesday at Castroville.

Down 7-6, Southside scored four times in the seventh inning on the way to their come-from-behind victory over MV.

Coach Sart Perez’s Coyotes, 6-2 in district and 9-8-1 for the season, were scheduled to play the San Antonio Antonian Apaches in non-district action Tuesday night, but that game was cancelled.

Last Saturday afternoon, the Coyotes lost an 11-8 decision to the Fredericksburg Battlin’ Billies in a non-district contest played at Marvin Kolinek Field.
