Coyotes, Calallen vie in series

The Uvalde Coyotes will open play in a bi-district baseball playoff series with a game against the Corpus Christi Calallen Wildcats tomorrow night.

Game one of the best-of-three series is set for a 7 p.m. start at Calallen High School’s baseball field.

The second game of the series is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at Uvalde’s Marvin Kolinek Field.

Should a third game be needed, game three would be played as the second game of a doubleheader Saturday at Kolinek Field.

Coach Ricky Salazar’s Coyotes, 10-14-1 for the season, will enter post-season play coming off of back-to-back District 29-5A victories over the Eagle Pass Winn Mavericks, 3-0, and the San Antonio McCollum Cowboys, 3-2.
