The Uvalde Coyotes and the Uvalde Lobos were in Eagle Pass last Friday to participate in the eighth-annual Eagle Pass Relays.
Results from the track-and-field meet will be reported in next Thursday’s edition of the Uvalde Leader-News.
Following UHS spring break this week, Coach Libby Guzman’s Lobos and Coach Albert Tijerina’s Coyotes will resume their track schedule on March 22 when the Uvaldeans host the Ira Sansom Relays in the Honey Bowl.
On March 29, the Uvaldeans will vie in the Eagle Pass Winn Relays.
The District 29-5A track-and-field meet is scheduled for April 5-7 at Floresville.
Besides UHS and meet host Eagle Pass High, other high schools represented in the meet Friday were to include Del Rio, Eagle Pass Winn; Laredo schools Cigarroa, LBJ, Martin, Nixon, United, and United South; and San Antonio Clark.
UHS athletes went into the meet following competition in the Texas State Invitational meet at San Marcos on March 1.
The Lobos totaled 51 points to place fifth in the girls’ team standings of the track-and-field meet, while the Coyotes recorded 19 points to finish in ninth place in the boys’ team standings.
