Winnie M. Owens

Winnie Mae Edmiston  Owens, 95, of Uvalde died on Oct. 16, 2018, in Uvalde.

She was born on March 4, 1923, in Floydada to Florence Searbin (Williamson) and Reed Thomas Stribling.

She married Horace Reeder Owens on May 26, 1972, in Midland.

She was an active member of the Central Christian Church in Sabinal.

She is survived by three daughters, Kay Kinsey and husband, Bill, of Dilley, Gwen Harris and husband, Billy Dean, of Junction and Sherian King and husband, William, of Imperial; six grandchildren, Janna Prasek, Mark Kinsey, Chris Kinsey, Monique Bowles, Cindee Dietrich and Todd Harris; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Horace Reeder Owens; first husband, Lawson Eugene Edmiston; sister, Jewel Teeple; and brother, R.T. Stribling.

A funeral service was on Friday at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment followed yesterday at 2 p.m. at East Hills Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
