Ross Lee Allee Jr., 87, died in Austin, Texas, on Oct. 6, 2017. A service was held in Austin on Oct. 12 at The Pavilion at Great Hills.
Ross was born on Oct. 10, 1929, in Crockett, Texas, to Ross Lee Allee and Inez Bandy Allee. Ross lived in Crockett until he attended Baylor University, from which he graduated in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. After graduation, he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Following completion of his service, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he met and married
Sandra Jane Baker.
Ross was a Vice President of United Savings and Loan in Corpus Christi until he retired to Reagan Wells, Texas, in 1980. He was involved in Kiwanis Club in Corpus Christi; later, he and Sandra were active members of the Reagan Wells Baptist Church and continued to support Baylor University throughout their lifetimes.
Ross and Sandra also traveled full-time in their motorhome for 10 years during their retirement. They explored the U.S. and volunteered at multiple state and national parks, including Yellowstone National Park, for a number of summers. They settled in Franklin, North Carolina, for a few years before moving to Austin, Texas, to be closer to family.
Ross was exceedingly thoughtful, helpful and kind. If he met you, he would remember everything about you and your family the next time you met. He led a happy, full life and will be missed by many.
Ross is survived by his sister, Ann Satterwhite; brother, Ralph Allee; daughter, Kennon Welch;
