Robin A. White
Robin A. White, 61, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of Sabinal, died of cardiac failure on April 12, 2019, in Kingsport.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1958, in Austin to Eleanor (Henry) and Melvin White.
He attended school in Shiner until the age of 10, when the family moved to his mother’s hometown, Sabinal. He graduated from Sabinal High School in 1976. While in high school, the family says he added character to the school’s drama performances and one-act plays, and he was known as a passionate trumpet player in the Sabinal High School band. He also played guitar, but he was probably best known for his skills in playing the harmonica.
He obtained a technical degree at Texas State Technical College of Waco and then completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Paul Quinn College in Waco. He spent many years working as a computer technician. He also established and ran his own business in Waco for a time, troubleshooting computers for individuals and businesses.
He lived in Sabinal on and off throughout his life. He enjoyed the climate and scenery in North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee during the times he resided there. At the time of his death, he was employed in the fraud division at Advanced Call Center Technologies in Kingsport, Tennessee.
White is survived by his brother, Tobin White of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Rhonda Jackson and husband, William; and two nephews, Maury Jackson and Liam Jackson, all of Bulverde.
A private interment will be held at a later date at the Sabinal Cemetery. His urn will be placed in the White family plot.
