Robert T. Gonzalez
Robert T. Gonzalez, 86, of Uvalde died on Jan. 23, 2018, at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Uvalde.
A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1931, in Uvalde to Anita (Talamantez) and Florentino Gonzalez.
He married Lilia T. Gonzalez on July 12, 1953, in Uvalde.
He worked for the Coca Cola Company for more than 20 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Texas State Guard and a crossing guard for the Uvalde Police Department at Robb Elementary School for many years
He is survived by one daughter, Dora Leos of Uvalde; two sons, Aldo T. Gonzalez and wife, Prescilla, of Austin and Robert T. Gonzalez Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of Uvalde; eight grandchildren, Ivan Leos, Jennifer Rangel, Jessica Rodriguez, Belicia Gonzalez, Lorena Gonzalez, Joaquin Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez III and Diego Gonzalez; six great-grandchildren, Lily Leos, Orlando Casteneda, Bianca Rodriguez, Lilliana Rodriguez, Diego Rangel and Luke Rangel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters, Mary Zamora and Margaret Pace; and one brother, Charles Elizondo.
Pallbearers will be Joaquin Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez III, Ivan Leos, Jerry Behm, Zachary Echavirria and Hilario Ramirez.
