He was born Sept. 12, 1955, in Uvalde to Joyce (Dobbs) and Robert Daniel Hall Sr.
He married Lynn Tucker on Feb. 25, 1984, in Uvalde. The couple initially met on a blind date.
Having lived in Uvalde most of his life, the family says his friends were numerous, and his witty sense of humor and determination to get things done were cherished traits. He enjoyed family trips to East Texas which included sing-a-longs with his aunt, Janie Bryant, chopping firewood and exploring the piney woods with his sister. Many of his lifelong friends remember his Pontiac GTO muscle car which gained fame in the area and his role as “monster man” guard on the 1972 Uvalde High School state championship football team.
His work in land clearing began at the age of nine while holding the brakes on his father’s Caterpillar D8. After attending college at Southwest Texas Junior College and the University of Texas, he worked for his father’s company, York & Hall Inc., until his father’s death.
Hall and his wife then opened their own land clearing business, R. D. Hall Construction. They loved to travel in their motorhome and soak up the beauties of America. The family says his love for nature could be seen all around his home. He enjoyed feeding deer, watching birds and ducks by his pond, and taking rides with his mother to count hawks and Mexican eagles. Barbecuing outside with his grandchildren also brought him much joy.
Hall is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn Hall; his mother, Joyce Hall Allison; his mother- and father-in-law, Billie and Pete Gonzalez, all of Uvalde; two sons, Bobby W. Hall of Belfair, Washington, and Michael A. Moore and wife, Jennifer, of Enid, Oklahoma; sister, Diana Bonnet and husband, Mark, of Uvalde; brother, James Hall and wife, LeighAnn, of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Suzette Gilbert of Uvalde; three brothers-in-law, Charles Tucker and James Gonzalez and wife, Christi, all of San Antonio and Tony Gonzalez of Uvalde; seven grandchildren, Tanner Hall, Dalton Hall, Bradley Henderson, Matthew Moore, Cole Moore, Canyon Hardzog, Creed Hardzog; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Hall Sr. and grandparents, Lillie Mae and Preston Dobbs, and Ida and J.A. Hall.
Pallbearers will be Travis Hall, Jason Hall, Travis Williams, R. J. McClure, Raleigh McClure, Ronny Speer, Manza Hale and Happy Schawe.
