Robert C. Bracher

Robert “Bob” Clint Bracher, 71, of San Angelo died on Nov. 27, 2019, at home with his family by his side.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Harper Funeral Home.

Bracher was born on May 13, 1948, in Yoakum to Margaret (Hough) and Clint W. Bracher.

He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1970, and was never seen without his Aggie ring. He would often tell anyone who would listen, “They don’t sell these at the dime store!”

He married Becky Atkinson on Aug. 7, 1970. Two years later, they welcomed their only child, Rebecca.

The family said Bracher never missed an opportunity to brag about his “Becca Boo.” Bracher was affectionately known as “Grumps” by his grandchildren.

He was involved in agriculture all his life. He was a journalist for The Cattleman Magazine, farmed and ranched in Uvalde, sold ranch equipment all over the world, and ended his career as owner and operator of Aermotor Windmill Company.

He enjoyed playing golf, especially when it involved a gentlemen’s wager. He loved to spend time at the Dos y Dos ranch in Ft. McKavett, spraying mesquite, working cattle, and on occasion dealing with a troublesome llama.

Bracher is survived by his wife; daughter, Rebecca Ball and husband, Tim, of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren, Reagan Ball, Caleb Ball, Reese Ball and Kate Ball; four siblings, Ann Price and husband, John, of Kerrville, Betty Burks and husband, Joe, of San Antonio, Barbara Downing of San Antonio, and Paul Bracher and wife, Laurie, of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may share online condolences at www.harper-funeralhome.com.
