Pauline H. Langner

Pauline Hulett Langner, 88, of Uvalde died on Nov. 22, 2018, in Uvalde.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1930, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Marguerite (Saur) and Paul Hulett.

After high school, she graduated with a degree in business from Texas Lutheran College in Seguin. During her time at Texas Lutheran, she met her future husband, John Langner of Knippa. The couple married on Oct. 28, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. They lived in Knippa until the late 1950s, when they moved to Uvalde.

Langner spent most of her professional career working as a bookkeeper. She retired in the early 1990s.

The family says she had a kind and gentle spirit; she was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother who constantly encouraged family and friends. She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa. 

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Laffere of Uvalde and Judy Blazek and husband, Bobby, of Rio Frio; one son, Ron Langner and wife, Terri, of Pearland; six grandsons, Sean Laffere and wife, Whitney, of Richmond, Shea Laffere of Dallas, Brent Laffere and wife, Chrissy, of Dallas, Brandon Laffere and wife, Katie, of Uvalde, Anthony Blazek and wife, Graciela, of Round Top, Shawn Blazek and wife, Denise, of Dripping Springs; three granddaughters, Crystal Blazek of Brownwood and Lindsey Langner and Lauren Langner, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 12 great grandchildren, Charlie Laffere, Drew Laffere, Taylor Laffere, Connor Laffere, Madison Laffere, Caroline Laffere, Beau Laffere, Evelyn Laffere, Corina Blazek, Evan Blazek, Brooke Blazek, Wyatt Blazek; best friend and sister-at-heart, Bo Allen, of Rio Frio; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters; and son-in-law, Charles “Bo” Laffere. 

Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1 p.m.,at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa. Interment followed at the Knippa Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Allen and Raymond Schwarzlose.
