Patricia L. Dorflinger
Patricia Lynn (Morris) Dorflinger has joined her Lord Jesus Christ in eternity at the age of 62.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1954, in Quanah, Texas, to Bentley Levon Morris and Katie “Bertha” Morris.
After marrying Philip Dorflinger in 1976, they lived seven years in Pasadena, Texas, before moving to Uvalde in 1984. The Dorflingers have been married for 40 years, 33 of which were in Uvalde, where they raised their four children.
Pat completed her education in Uvalde and taught public school for 20 years prior to retirement, mainly teaching early childhood grades. She has been a notable and favorite teacher of very many children over the years and an inspiration to her peers. A woman of great virtue, she attended and served at the Bread of Life Christian Fellowship on High Street for the past 30 years, where she influenced many with her grace, character, and with her special gift of decorating and hospitality.
She is survived by her husband, Philip, and her four children; Nils (Jodi) Dorflinger, Ivan (Katie) Dorflinger, Max (Eloisa) Dorflinger, and Katie (Jeff) Thigpen. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and numerous loving in-laws. She is survived by one sister, Wanda, and her brother, Wendell, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister Priscilla; as well as her father-in-law.
Pat’s Christian testimony in her life and through her illness has honored God and His body of believers. Her sphere of influence has been significant, reflecting her character, faith, grace, hope, and a belief in a loving God who she knows only wants the best for His children. She will be dearly missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church sanctuary in Uvalde on Monday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m.
The preceding is a paid obituary.
