Pantaleon “Pete” Enriquez, 90, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died on Jan. 22, 2018, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1927, in Rotan to Pedro and Margarita (Gonzalez) and Pedro Enriquez.
He married Amelia Garza on Oct. 27, 1946, in Piedras Negras, Mexico. The couple was married for more than 71 years.
Enriquez retired from Watson Truck & Supply in Hobbs, New Mexico. He enjoyed woodworking and loved making pinatas for his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; three granddaughters; and one grandson.
Enriquez is survived by his wife; and five daughters, Carmen Frederick, Rosa Trevino and Nora Martinez, all of Hobbs, New Mexico, Norma Kennedy and husband, Karl, of Waxahachie, and Margie Betancur of San Antonio; two sons, Louis Enriquez and wife, RaeAnn, of Waxahachie, and Rudy Enriquez of Hobbs, New Mexico; two sisters, Margarita Robinson of Uvalde and Maria Alma Valdez of Hutto; five brothers, Juan Enriquez of San Jose, California, Pedro Enriquez and Alejandro Enriquez, both of Hobbs, new Mexico, and Marcos Enriquez and Rudolpho Enriquez, both of Uvalde; and 84 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Helena Catholic Church. The Rev. James Duplissey officiated. Interment followed at Prairie Haven Memorial Park in Hobbs, New Mexico. Arrangements were with Griffin Funeral Home in New Mexico.
