Ophelia S. Frausto

Ophelia S. Frausto, 90, of Buda, formerly of Uvalde, died on Sept. 22, 2017, at her residence, on what would have been the 56th anniversary of her wedding day.

A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

She was born on March 4, 1927, in Uvalde to Concepcion (Hernandez) and Lucas Samora.

She married Jose Isabel Frausto on Sept. 22, 1961, in Uvalde.      

She is survived by six daughters, Josie Diaz, Mary Diane Rodriguez and husband, Reynaldo, and  Isabelle Gonzalez and husband, Javier, all of Uvalde, and Dahlia Torres and husband, Richard, Dora Ybañez and husband, Gilberto, and Belinda Rosado and husband, Julio Cesar, all of Buda; three sons, Edward Rodriguez and wife, Shelly, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Juan Frausto and wife, Mari, and Isidro Frausto, all of San Antonio; sisters, Soila Samora of Uvalde, Concha Zamora and Janie Zamora, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Beatrice Gonzalez of Michigan; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Roberto Rodriguez; two brothers, Acencion Samora and Lucas Samora; and three sisters, Victoria Cadena, Catalina Clabaugh and Feliz Zamora Ward.

A visitation was held yesterday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service held at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Richard Torres, Julio Cesar Rosado, Robert Rodriquez, Gilberto Ybañez, Josiah Torres and James Diaz.
