Murffy D. Butler
Murffy Don Butler, 75, of Uvalde died on Feb. 24, 2019, in San Antonio.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Wayne Whiteaker will officiate.
He was born on July 14, 1943, in Hedley to Sybil Ruby (Redding) and William Henry Butler.
He married Royce Toler in 1980 in Uvalde.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, of Uvalde; his mother, of Lone Oak; son, Tony Butler of Wentzville, Missouri; daughter, LeAn Watson of La Vernia; stepson, Lamar Courtney of Uvalde; two stepdaughters, Sheri Patterson of San Angelo and Charla Helbig and husband, Lawrence Jr., of Silver City, New Mexico; brother, Dwight Butler of Hanford, California; four sisters, Analita Ray and husband, Ron, of Lone Oak, Rutha Drawe and husband, Richard, of Progeso, Jerry Covington and husband, Stanley, of Athens and Lorah Green and husband, Tony, of Plainview; four grandchildren, Paula Watson, Steven Butler and wife, Suzanne, David Butler and wife, Lisa Marie, and Michael Butler; six step-grandchildren, Meagan Buck and husband, Grant, Jason Helbig, Samantha Eubanks and husband, Jeremy, Garrett Courtney, Will Courtney and Erika Courtney; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Laramie Joe Butler and Ellis Butler; sister-in-law, Sandra Butler; and grandson, Grant Watson.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Courtney, Garrett Courtney, David Butler, Ron Ray, Lawrence Helbig Jr. and John Vollbrecht.
