Miguel G. Salazar Sr.
Miguel G. “Cisco Kid” Salazar Sr., 74, of Uvalde died on Dec. 12, 2018, at his residence.
A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was born on June 18, 1944, in Uvalde to Andrea (Gutierrez) and Jesus Salazar.
He married Elvira Vaquera on June 8, 1968, in Uvalde.
Salazar is survived by his wife of 50 years; daughter, Christina Alonzo and husband, Jaime, all of Uvalde; two sons, Miguel G. Salazar Jr. of Austin and Frank Salazar and wife, Arely, of Uvalde; five sisters, Maria Castillo of Temple, Lupe Garcia of La Pryor, Linda Salazar and Pura Salazar, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and Gloria Pesina of Brownwood; six brothers, Armando Salazar, Juan Salazar, Luis Salazar and Johnny Salazar, all of Uvalde, Joe Salazar of Hondo and Omero Salazar Phoenix, Arizona; and five grandchildren, Alyssandra A. Salazar of Austin, and Cierra J. Alonzo, Frank I. Salazar II, Leah I. Salazar, and Aliana F. Salazar, all of Uvalde.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jesse G. Salazar.
A visitation was held yesterday at 1 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
