Mary A. Morales
Mary Alicia Albarado Morales, 91, of Houston died on May 11, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
She was born on June 29, 1926, in Rio Frio to Sarita (Sanchez) and Santiago Albarado.
Morales worked for Vice President of the United States John Nance Garner and worked at Park Manor Nursing Home in Uvalde. She retired approximately 27 years ago and enjoyed working in the yard, reading and feeding her cats. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S.
She moved to Houston in 2013, where she resided with her daughter.
Morales is survived by two daughters, Linda Morales and spouse, Esther Martinez, and Kathryn Morales, all of Houston; two sons, Sixto “Sam” Morales of Corpus Christi and Nicolas Morales and spouse, Ernestine Morales, of Uvalde; one granddaughter, Traci Lopez; four great-grand daughters, Anessa Leija and husband, Alex Salgado, Patricia Morales and husband, Izaiah Gauna, Caprii Lopez and Jadelyn Lopez; four great-great-grandchildren, Alexander Salgado, Aleyah Salgado, Avery Salgado, and Zayden Gauna; brother, Jim Albarado and spouse, Tammie; and sister, Molly Gonzalez and husband, Carlos, all of Rio Frio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sixto Morales Sr.; two sisters, Policarpia Cortez and Ernestina DeLeon; and brother, Juan Albarado.
