Margaret “Mimi” Raine, 94, of Uvalde died on Oct. 21, 2018, on a sunny day, surrounded by family at her residence.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Uvalde.
She was born on July 15, 1924, in Uvalde County to Reba (Mason) and Phillip Newell.
She married Charles Raine in Uvalde in 1942.
The family says she was old-fashioned, a hard worker who was honest in her dealings and always put others first; she left her mark on the world. She could always be found roaming the farm in her old beat-up pickup, cutting brush or tending to her goats – particularly making sure the nanny goats were taking care of the kids.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, of Uvalde; four daughters, Pally Kitto and husband, Karl, of Midland, Randall Davidson and husband, Bodie, of Batesville, Charle Stewart and husband, Bubba, of Harper and Alicia Raine of Uvalde; son, Mason Raine and wife, Kathy, of Weatherford; brother, Sonny Newell and wife, Kathrine, of Ballinger; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
