Magdalena “Nena” Aragon, 69, of Greeley, Colorado, died on July 18, 2018, at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1948, in La Pryor to Sara Aguirre and Federico Ortiz.
The family says she lived life to the fullest on her own terms. She enjoyed simple pleasures; chatting, spending time with friends and family, snacking and spending time with God.
Aragon is survived by her son, Martin Salazar and wife, Darlene, of Eaton, Colorado; two daughters, Nancy Salazar of Greeley, Colorado, and Lisa Aragon of Thornton, Colorado; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Salazar-Kingston, Mario Anchondo, Johnathan Anchondo, Martin Salazar Jr., Alexandria Aragon, Alyssa Aragon, Matthias Salazar, Sinaya Rodriguez, Savannah Rodriguez and Michael Salazar; two great-grandchildren, Trinity Lynn Salazar-Curry and Lansun John Kingston; five sisters; Lupita Garcia of Sabinal, Evangelina Salazar of Michigan, Sylvia Morales Avila of Oklahoma, Frances Luebano of Lubbock, and Yolanda Aragon of New Mexico; and brother; Lupito Ortiz of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Minda Kone and Sara Adame; and grandson, Manual J. Salazar.
A viewing was held on July 25, 2018, at 9 a.m., and a rosary was recited at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Peace Church in Greeley, Colorado. A mass of Christian burial followed at 11 a.m., also at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment followed at Eaton Cemetery in Colorado.
