Luisa O. Rodriguez
Luisa “Mary Lou” Ortega Rodriguez, 72, of Uvalde died on June 28, 2018, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1945, in D’Hanis to Linda (Silva) and Sebastian Ortega.
She married Luis Rodriguez on Sept. 12, 1970, in Clyman, Wisconsin.
In 1977, she dedicated herself and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The family says Rodriguez spent the rest of her life speaking to others and spreading her faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Julia Nelson.
Rodriguez is survived by her husband of 48 years, of Uvalde; daughter, Julissa Abegail Rodriguez of New Braunfels; three sons, Josue Alfredo Rodriguez and wife, Olga, of Clute, Reginaldo Luis Rodriguez Jr. of Uvalde and James Nathan Rodriguez and wife, Melody, of Elgin, Kansas; brother, Felix Ortega of Wisconsin; two sisters, Mary Esquivel of Illinois and Irene Vogt of Watertown, Wisconsin; and two grandchildren, Isabella Marie Rodriguez and Joaquin Santiago Rodriguez.
A visitation was held yesterday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a prayer service was held at 7 p.m., both at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at a later date.
