Joe H. Boultinghouse

Joe H. Boultinghouse, 90, of White Oak died on Jan 26, 2018, in Longview.

He was born on April 30, 1927, in Sabinal to True and Jo Boultinghouse.

He graduated from Sabinal High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

His hobbies included camping and he served as president of the Tex-A-Go Sams Camping Club. He became an officer and then later the president of the Texas Employment Commission Employees State Association in 1970.

He was a member of the Evening Toastmasters Club of Longview for nine years, and an 11-gallon donor at the Longview Stewart Blood Bank. He was voted volunteer of the year in 1991 by the East Texas Women’s Center.

He retired after 30 years of service with the Texas Employment Commission as a tax audit supervisor. He was a tireless worker at each assigned station at the credit unions, later becoming President of the Board of Directors of the local Ten-Tec Credit Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dixie Novak; one son, Kerry Pannell; and one sister, Betty Durham.

Boultinghouse is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laura A. Dodson Pannell Boultinghouse; two daughters, Elaine Briers of Orange County, California, and Lana Little and husband Chris Little of Gilmer; one son, Keith Pannell and wife, Donna, of White Oak; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Sydney Martin and husband, Greg, of Grady, New Mexico; and numerous relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m at New Beginnings Baptist Church of Longview. The Rev. Todd Kaunity and life group leader Roger Carr officiated the ceremony.
