Jewel Catherine Heard Woolf of Uvalde, Texas known to all as Julie passed away on June 26, 2017, after a lengthy and brave fight with cancer in the presence of her family. She fought with all she had till the very end. Julie was a loving, giving and hardworking woman who helped in the lords work in thousands of ways. She was a friend to all who knew and loved her and she has left this world a little better for having lived in it, while those who were touched by her are a little better for having lived in the warmth of her presence.

She came into this world early on the morning of Feb. 4, 1953, as the fourth of five children born to Sidney Sterling Heard and Mary Estella Heard of Reagan Wells, Texas, where she was raised. She was named after her great aunt Jewel Womack and her great grandmother Catherine Gross.

She attended elementary, junior and high schools in Uvalde. After graduation from high school, she attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde. She married the love of her life, Roger Milton Woolf on Sept. 14, 1973. They lived their lives together for 44 years in Uvalde, while raising two sons, Jason and Brian Woolf.

Julie was a lifelong member of the order of both the Uvalde and Hondo chapters of the order of the Eastern Star. The Eastern Star was more than an organization to Julie. It was her passion and love and something she cared dearly and deeply for. It blessed her with many deep and special friendships.

Julie was a dedicated and faithful employee of UniFirst Corporation for almost 30 years as a customer service representative.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Roger Woolf of Uvalde, Texas. Two devoted sons Jason Woolf of Marion, Texas and Brian Woolf (her baby) of Uvalde, Texas. An amazing daughter-in-law, Lauren Woolf of Marion, Texas, and three grandchildren who were the light of her world, Evan Woolf, Mariilyn Woolf and Cullen Woolf of Marion, Texas. Two amazing in-laws who were more surrogate parents than in-laws, Milton and Jerri Woolf; a loving sister and brother-in-law, Jo Beth and Jerome Warren of Uvalde, Texas. Her brother Wyatt Heard and wife, Annelle, of Uvalde, Texas; Sister Margret Skillern of Pasadena, Texas; Sister Nikki Kreger of Houston, Texas; sister Ginny Robertson and husband, Paul, of Houston, Texas; many nieces and nephews and their families; as well as her extended Eastern Star and masonic family.
