Jerry H. King
“Jerry” Howard King sailed into the arms of Jesus on the biggest fishing trip of his life on Nov. 1, 2019.
He was born on April 21, 1945, to Ralph King and Winnie King Harris in Austin, Texas. He was one of six children. He loved to cook, hunt, and most of all he lived to fish.
He was a long time member of the Uvalde Bass Club and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow fishermen. His favorite fishing spot was at White Horse Canyon. Jerry was the rock of our family and you could always find him in the kitchen cooking everybody’s favorite dish.
He loved holidays, vacations, and family gatherings. More than anything else, he loved his wife, Karla. They always had fun together whether that be at home or out on the town with their friends.
Jerry was blessed with twin boys, Jerry and Terry whom he spoke to almost daily and of whom he was so proud. He also looked forward to the annual hunting trip with his long time friends Mike Thomas, Tom Cousineau, and Bob Caldwell.
He is survived by his wife Karla Rose King; his sons Jerry King (Beth) and Terry King (Shannon); son Colton Howard (Skylar); sisters, Barbara Thielepape and Janet (Jack) Green; brother, Wayne King; friends and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph King and Winnie King Harris; sister, Carolyn Jones, and brother, Huey King.
The family will greet visitors from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at 11 a.m at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
