Jacqueline “Sugar” McClure, 74, of San Antonio died after a brief illness on Oct. 24, 2018, in San Antonio. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Castroville. The Rev. Joel Warren will officiate. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard.

She was born on Aug 17, 1944, in Menard to Mary Lee Thigpen and Jack Busby. She lived in the D’Hanis, Sabinal and Uvalde areas.

McClure was very active in church and was a dedicated supporter of the Awana children’s program. She was a long time member of the Castroville Line Dancers. She previously owned Uvalde Florist and Gifts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis McClure, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Kayte Pace and husband, Bruce, of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Kenneth Henson, Ashley Pace and  Bruce Pace II; brother, Jim Busby and wife, Terry, of Carmine; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and  friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
