Jack E. Roosa Jr.
Jack Edward Roosa Jr., 74, of Houston died on June 13, 2018, in Houston.
A graveside service will be held for family members on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at Uvalde Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Uvalde, followed by a reception in Grace Hall.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1943, in Winfield, Kansas, to Nell (Smyth) Roosa and Jack Roosa.
He graduated from Uvalde High School in 1961, then from Texas A&I in Kingsville with a degree in engineering in 1966. He was a member of the Sigma Rho Fraternity.
He was an Eagle Scout and an acolyte at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
Roosa completed a lifelong career with DuPont Corporation as plant manager at the Bayport location in 2001, after working at plants in various locations including Victoria and Orange, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Florence, South Carolina, and Wilmington, Delaware.
He enjoyed golfing, spending time at the Frio River in Concan, and strategizing at casinos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Marie Smyth and Lewis Miller Sr.
Roosa is survived by his wife, Linda Young Roosa, of Houston; daughter, Linda Lee Roosa D’Antonio and husband, Anthony, of Decatur, Alabama; son, Stefan Roosa and wife, Anna Catherine,of Missouri City; sister, Nell Louise Roosa of Concan; two brothers, Rodger Roosa and wife, Mary Anna, of Concan and Richard Roosa of Houston; and five grandchildren, Nicole D’Antonio Frost and husband, Tyler, of Birmingham, Alabama, AJ D’Antonio of Tysons Corner, Virginia, and Carter Roosa, Kyle Roosa and Catherine Roosa, all of Missouri City.
