Isabel C. Padilla
Isabel C. ‘’Red’’ Padilla of Uvalde, 87, died on Dec. 19, 2017, at his residence.
A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
He was born on July 6, 1930, in Rosebud to Antonia Cobos and Graciano Padilla.
He married Belia G. Young on Sept. 15, 1952, in Crystal City.
Padilla is survived by two daughters, Leticia Ruiz and husband, Ray Jr., and Melinda Estrada and husband, Robert, all of Uvalde; four sons, Bobby Padilla and wife, Laura Isabel, ‘’Nune’’ Padilla and companion, Josie Sotelo, Larry Y. Padilla and companion, Bonnie Chapa, all of Uvalde, and Roy Padilla and wife, Susie, of Rosenberg; one sister, Delia Carreon of Waco; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Jose Villarreal of Batesville; niece, Alicia Villarreal and companion, Ramon DeLeon, of Batesville; and other numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one daughter, Oralia Padilla; one grandson, Lauro Padilla; and one great-grandson, Uvaldo Martinez III.
A visitation was held yesterday at 5 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
