Hilda Davenport, 81, of Uvalde died on Dec. 29, 2017, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Peyton will officiate.
She was born on May 25, 1936, in Mendenhall, Mississippi to Elizabeth (Benton) and Lonas McLendon.
Davenport is survived by three daughters, Denise Carter of Houston, Marsha Mack and husband, Scott, of Uvalde, and Lesa Carter of Carson City, Nevada; one sister, Rhedus Deardorff of Longview; one brother, Cecil McLendon of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Leon Davenport; one sister, Gussie Jo Stubbs; and one brother, D.J. McLendon.
Pallbearers will be Scott Mack, Scott Howze, Doug Brice, Greg Davis, and Joe Ortega.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cheryl Lowe, Pat Lowe, Gardys Johnson, Judy Brown, and members of the Life Training Sunday School class.
