Herminia C. “Minnie” Alejandro, 84, of Sabinal died on March 10, 2018, at her residence.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1933, in Sabinal to Eva (Lopez) and Agustin Cortez.

She married Jesus Alejandro on Sept. 22, 1948, in Pecos, New Mexico.

Alejandro is survived by her husband of 69 years; three sons, Lee Alejandro and wife, Elda, and Esteban Alejandro and wife, Jeannette, all of Knippa, and Manuel Alejandro and wife, Nikol, of Uvalde; two daughters, Nelida Velasquez and husband, Arturo, of San Antonio and Regina Rodriguez and husband, Albert, of Castroville; one daughter-in-law, Maria Alejandro of Uvalde; one sister, Eva Hernandez and husband, Juan, of Dallas; one brother-in-law, Elario Banda of Watertown, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jesus Alejandro Jr. and Agustin Alejandro; three sisters, Ynsela Gonzalez, Erlinda Banda and Teresa Zulaica; and one brother, Roman Cortez.

A funeral mass was held yesterday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sabinal.

Pallbearers were Jesse Lee Alejandro, Richard Alejandro, Matt Alejandro, Alberto Rodriguez Jr., Roman Zulaica and Luke Alejandro.

Honorary pallbearers were Paul Alejandro, Christian Alejandro and Justin Alejandro.
