Harry K. Sutherland Jr.
Harry Keith Sutherland Jr., 72, of Pleasanton died on Aug. 12, 2018, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Crosspoint Fellowship Church, 739 Dallas Street, Pleasanton.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1946, in Uvalde to Lilla (Scott) and Keith Sutherland Sr.
He grew up on the family ranch along the Nueces River and lived in Pleasanton for many years.
Sutherland was a jack of all trades. He ran a plethora of successful businesses which included agricultural sprinkler systems; construction and erection of billboards and metal buildings; rental properties; and running hot shot trucking services for oil field companies and car washes.
The family says the things he loved most in life were fishing and drinking sweet tea, his dogs, and his wife of more than 50 years, Martha Kay Sutherland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Sutherland is survived by one daughter, Melissa Sutherland Hunt and husband, Bob, of Pleasanton; two sons, Keith Sutherland III and wife, Jennie, of Austin and Jason Spruill and wife, Kynda, of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Seth Hunt, Jess Hunt, Eli Hunt, Ruby Sutherland and June Sutherland; and two sisters, Kay Loehr and husband, John, of Greenville and Eloise Sutherland and husband, Clint Radell, of Austin.
