Guillermo G. Garcia
Guillermo Guajardo Garcia, 88, of Uvalde died Sept. 4, 2019, in Uvalde.
Garcia was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Bigfoot to Maria Guajardo and Eliseo Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Chapoy Garcia; parents; son, Hector Garcia; two brothers, Ezequiel Garcia and Benito Garcia; and three sisters, Minerva Torrez, Edna Hernandez and Susana Enriquez.
He is survived by his son, Willie Garcia Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Uvalde; three daughters, Sylvia Garcia and spouse, Alicia Longoria, of San Antonio, Cynthia Perez and husband, Elias, and Lisa Hernandez and husband, Manuel, all of Uvalde; daughter-in-law, Josefina R. Garcia of Odessa; sister, Elva Ibarra, of Uvalde; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Serenity at at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home of Uvalde.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Hernandez, Steven Hernandez, Guillermo Garcia III and Marcial Perez, all of Uvalde; Hector Garcia Jr., Ethan Lopez and John Garcia, all of San Antonio; and Ben Garcia, of Odessa.
Honorary pallbearers were Manuel Hernandez Jr., Randy Hernandez, Eliseo Garcia and David Garcia, all of Uvalde.
