Francisco Moreno, 72, of Uvalde died on June 11, 2018, at his residence.
A visitation will be today 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., both at the Chapel of Serenity at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home, 424 Geraldine Street, Uvalde.
A scripture service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home. The U.S. Army will render military honors.
He was born on July 26, 1934, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Tomasita Ovalle and Secundino Moreno.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-parents, Cora Moreno and Edmundo Tellez; and sister, Sylvia Ovalle Moreno.
Moreno is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Moreno and Sandra Moreno; and son, Francisco Moreno Jr., all of Oxnard, California; three brothers, Joe “Yogi” Moreno and wife, Rebecca, and Francisco Javier Moreno, all of Uvalde, and Jesus Luis Moreno and wife, Oralia, of Eagle Pass; two sisters, Concepcion Vasquez and Dolores Alvarez and husband, Jesse, all of Uvalde; three grandchildren, Nicolas Ernesto Moreno, Steven Jacob Lant and Sabrina Nicole Enriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will follow at a later date.
